I didn’t understand. My heart was beginning to shatter but there you were, walking off towards the arms of another person. I gripped my chest where my heart was said to be and felt nothing. No beating. No warmth. Just a cold heartless shell. I began to think and wonder if you felt the same way because on the outside that’s how you appeared to me. Just a cold heartless shell. You smiled with me. You laughed with me. But I had no idea you would be leaving so quickly. That you would spring this on me so suddenly. You didn’t even care to warn me. You left me so easily. You left as if it was something so ordinary. You won’t even apologize because you feel like you’ve done nothing wrong. How cruel.
